Inflammation Disease Models
Senerga® Mode of Action Platform
(T-and B-cell transfer model)
Senerga Mode of Action Platform
An in vivo murine model that allows for the dissection of the various steps that constitue an adaptive immune response. By dissecting this pathway, the mode of action of a compound can be determined. The platform can also be adapted to answer many other fundamental questions surrounding immunomodulation.
Central to all immune responses are the interactions of such cells as dendritic cells (DCs), T cells and B cells. In particular, the CD4+ T cell is central to many inflammatory diseases such as asthma, arthritis, IBD, and MS. It therefore follows that if we can examine the effect of a compound on the CD4+ T cell and also on DC and B cells, then we are able to observe the critical interactions that underlie the disease process of a number of diseases. Since an effective immunomodulator may act at some point along the DC, T and B cell pathway, we observe the efficacy of a potential immunomodulator and are able to choose the target disease(s) based on mode of action.
