Intended use
The Collagen Type II ELISA provides a method for the determination of collagen type II (CII) in human, mouse, rat, porcine, and chick cell culture supernate samples.
Principle of the test
ELISA or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay is a colorimetric based immunoassay utilizing a capture antibody and a detection antibody to provide a unique and powerful assay system. The Collagen Type II (CII) ELISA is a hetergoenous sandwich ELISA where antibody to collagen type II is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate and any collagen type II present in the sample will be bound onto the microplate by the antibody. A secondary biotinylated antibody is then added and converted by the enzyme to produce a quantifiable colored product that is in direct proportion to the amount of antigen bound in the initial reaction.
