Our CNS disease preclinical research services are provided from our dedicated Neurology laboratories. Our state of the art laboratories are fitted with the most advanced equipment and staffed with experienced scientists to provide the best methodologies. Wherever possible, we include clinically-relevant read-outs, such as with the use of the Neurometer® CPT® (Neurotron, Inc.) a unique neurodiagnostic device that painlessly evalutes the functioning of small unmylenated (C), small myelinated (Aδ) and large myelinated (Aβ) sensory nerve fibers at any cutaneous site. The Neurometer® CPT® device is sensitive to both hypoesthetic and hyperesthetic abnormalities and has more than 800 peer reviewed research publications documenting its clinical diagnostic capabilities.
Neurodegenrative diseases including Parkinson's Disease as well as neuro-inflammation related models such as EAE for multiple sclerosis (MS) and ischemia take center stage. Our laboratories are also proud to be known as a center of excellence in the study of neuropathic, chronic pain as well as acute pain with multiple validated models and relevant read-outs. Our pain services are extended with unique pig translational models complementing our rodent studies and offering confidence as compounds move to IND and clinical stages of their development.
