PLP-induced EAE preclinical disease model

PLP 139-151 in conjunction with pertussis toxin (PT) will lead to a remitting-relapsing disease. Relapses are associated with epitope spreading in which T cell reactivity to secondary endogenous peptides that emerge as a consequence of the initial phase of myeling destruction. Remissions are associated with a temporary loss of inflammatory cells from the CNS.

PLP-induced EAE preclinical contract research model*
Length 25 - 49 days (if extended into second relapse peak)
Strain SJL
Induction PLP 139-155 peptide plus PT. Onset of disease occurs between days 18-21 with relapse beginning at approximately day 30.
Positive Control Dexamethasone
Assessments clinical sign/score, body weight,
Additional Options Histopathology, demyelination analysis, Immunohistochemistry, cytokine analysis, gene expression, blood counts

*Models can be customized to sponsors criteria. Contact a scientist.
