Neurodegenerative Disease Rodent Models 

MD Biosciences offers neurological and CNS research services through our dedicated Neuroscience Laboratories. Our state-of-the-art facilities are fitted with modern, highly-sensitive equipment for use in preclinical and translational studies, and are staffed with experienced PhD-level scientists to apply optimal methodologies in the proper context. Wherever possible, we include clinically-relevant read-outs with the application of such technologies as the Neurometer® CPT®, a unique neurodiagnostic device that painlessly evaluates the functioning of small unmyelinated (C), small myelinated (Aδ) and large myelinated (Aβ) sensory nerve fibers at any cutaneous site. With this tool, we can examine both hypoesthetic and hyperesthetic abnormalities. 

Neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's as well as neuro-inflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS) take center stage, with additional capabilities in stroke and cerebral ischemia. We excel in the study of neuropathic, chronic and acute pain, offering multiple validated models and relevant pain readouts. Our pain research services are extended with unique pig translational models complementing our rodent studies and offering confidence as compounds move to IND and clinical stages of development.
